Streamline Your Neurodiversity Clinic's Marketing with These 3 Key Questions

The Burnout Trap
I see you.
I see you over there, doing what you love. Working with children and having a million ideas, wanting to grow and share your passion with others. I also see you stressing about growing your business. I see you trying to follow the “rules” determined by someone else online on how to catapult your earnings into the stratosphere in twenty-eight minutes by posting several times a day on all the social media platforms. There is only one result from following these “methods.”
And that, my friend, is burnout
And what happens when you’re burnt out? Your creativity and your passion are depleted – your business momentum comes to a crashing halt. Then you don’t enjoy your business and you stop growing, stop doing what you love… Do you see where I’m headed with this?
So, let’s take a look at this whole digital marketing situation with a new set of eyes, shall we?
Is digital marketing necessary for my clinic? In this day and age, yes.
Isn’t digital marketing hard to do and very time-consuming without a lot of return? It doesn’t have to be. Especially if you do it the best way for your practice.
Three Questions to Bring it in to Focus
Think carefully about your answers. Consider your services and then think who would need that.
Who are your ideal clients? Where would they hang out online? What other content would they be looking at adjacent to your services? Which social media platform would they frequent the most? And as a bonus consideration, would they even be on social? (Those people do exist, apparently!)
Then reflect on the type of content those people prefer to consume. Short or long-form video? Blog posts (like this one) or email? TikTok or Reels? Your ideal audience may sway strongly to one or two types of content, so there’s your focus. If you find that clients like behind-the-scenes videos of how you make your custom products and sneak peeks at new designs, run with it.
One bonus question most clinic owners forget
What can you handle? How frequently can you post, blog, or create a Reel while still stoking your passion for your patients and your own life? If it’s once a week, then go with it. If it’s more, then go for it, and if at any time your comfort level with the frequency needs to change, please listen to yourself and adjust accordingly. Breaks from social media are allowed, and these days, they are encouraged and very much accepted.
And as a bonus, posting frequently for a period of time and then ghosting also affects how Google perceives your site. Posting consistently, even if it’s less often, over time shows Google that your site is an active and stable site, and they’re more likely to include it in a search result.
This post has focused mainly only on the social media portion of digital marketing. Social media seems to be the most common portion of digital marketing for most people – probably because it’s the one we use as consumers and therefore are most familiar with. Social media is a part of marketing most definitely, so it’s a great place to start. Other arms of digital marketing will be covered in future blog posts, so stay tuned for those!
